Welcome to the EWGA - Northern New Jersey Chapter

The Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA) is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1991 whose mission is connecting women to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf for business and for fun.

The Northern NJ Chapter provides golf opportunities for members in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic and Sussex counties. We offer golf education, leagues, tournaments, social events and a network of international business connections for thousands of professional women across the globe.  Members are active and retired CEOs, CFOs, Program and Project Managers, teachers and professors; realtors, financial, legal, manufacturing, medical and health professionals, small business owners and more.

Locally, we offer 20 leagues, a weekend golf school, “Ready to Golf “ and technique improvement programs, monthly on and off course networking events, rules and etiquette workshops; tristate area EWGA  stroke, scramble and match tournaments; and a Chapter Championship.

Joining the Northern New Jersey Chapter is a great way to get involved in the game of golf and to meet other women. Our Calendar of Events includes education programs, leagues, golf outings, and networking & social activities.

President’s Message

It is now official, we are an LPGA entity and we anticipate in the upcoming weeks, much of the needed website updates will be in place.
Having been a member of our EWGA chapter from its beginning this action is bittersweet for me. Nancy Oliver knew what she was doing when she included chapters like ours to build and test components for our chapters as needed, now becoming LPGA Women who Play appears to be a natural progression, since EWGA had become the largest amateur women’s golfing organization in the world and the LPGA being the oldest Professional women golfers’ organization it seems to have been meant to be. I’ll have more to share as we move along and stay tuned to our website as things progress.

A lot of background work is being done right now to help us get fully operational as “LPGA – Women who Play, our website is being updated, event templates and suggested marketing collateral will be available for our Chapter; templates will be sent to us for our newsletter, flyers, business cards, etc. - we’ll be all “LPGA’d” up.
Make sure you check out the coming events on our website and register for your leagues; you can also register as a sub for courses that you want to learn more about!
I look forward to seeing you at our Season Opener at Black Bear Golf Course on May 5th!
Don’t forget to save the date for our annual Play for Pink in our fight to stop breast cancer. If you’ve never played Basking Ridge Country Club here’s your chance on July 16th. Yes, it’s a Monday so you’ll have that Monday league play off and we’ll tack it on the end of our league schedule in an effort to get as many women playing for research to stop this awful scourge.
~~~
Keep your eyes and ears open for opportunities to marshal at LPGA and PGA events as they come along; its lots of fun and you’ll get to actually meet and if time permits to chat with international golf pros, the Shoprite LPGA Classic June 8th – 10th in Galloway, NJ is a fun event and better to be there than just sitting at home watching it on TV.
~~~
I was recently reminded of a conversation I had a number of years ago with a long time member who always avoided the championship and when I said that she should consider playing she said she wasn’t good enough – then I told her that it’s a ‘flighted event’ (golfers competing according to skill levels) she then registered and lo and behold – She won her flight! Hopefully you’ll give some serious thought to playing in our Chapter Championship this year. You may be a winner and not even know it - give it a try – even if you don’t win, you’ll have a fun day on the course in the trying.
